However, he arrived in Qatar with an injury and didn&#8217;t make his first start until the final game of the group stage, before opening his account against USA, a perfect momentum-building goal when preparing for a nation like Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Steven Bergwijn has also formed part of a more fluid Dutch attack which has included the star man so far: Cody Gakpo. The PSV man has been in phenomenal form this season, directly involved in 30 goals in 24 games across all competitions for the Dutch side, including nine and 12 in the Eredivisie to lead the division in both metrics. He has carried that form into Qatar.<\/p>\n<h3>Netherlands player to watch \u2013 Frenkie de Jong<\/h3>\n<p>The name on everyone&#8217;s lip over the summer was Frenkie de Jong, but he ultimately remained at his dream club Barcelona despite heavy interest from the Premier League, where he could have linked up with former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag&#8217;s desire for a reunion was sound, as De Jong is among the elite press-resistant midfielders playing today. He&#8217;s also fought his way back into Xavi&#8217;s Barcelona team, starting nine of their 14 La Liga matches so far including each of the past six.<\/p>\n<p>Much like at Euro 2020, Netherlands&#8217; fate rests in De Jong&#8217;s hands.
