the elite goalscorer of A-League football over the years, scoring 120 goals in 176 appearances in Australia. It’s a record that earned him a move to Europe, firstly with German side Darmstadt, and then in Scotland with Hibernian, where he experienced limited success. His return to Australia with Melbourne City showed his class, though, and, if he hits the ground running in Qatar, he could be an outside shout for an each way bet to win the Golden Boot.

Australia player to Watch – Riley McGree

McGree has accomplished quite a lot in a relatively short career so far. The 23 year old has played in Australia, Belgium, USA and England, as well as being nominated for the 2018 Fifa Puskas Award for his scorpion kick goal for Newcastle Jets. He’s impressed wherever he’s played and this has made him integral to Arnold’s plans, with the attack-minded midfielder earning nine caps for his country so far.

Australia emerging Player to Look Out For – Garang Kuol

The 18 year old forward has taken the A-League by storm this season, scoring four goals in 12 appearances and doing enough to secure a move to Premier League side, Newcastle United, in January.
