Dundee United finished seventh last season on 45 points, a respectable enough return, but the underlying numbers flag a soft centre: 49 goals scored and 60 conceded, the most generous defence of the sides that ended up in the top half. Zachary Sapsford was their leading marksman with nine and, with several of last season\u2019s contributors moved on over the summer, plenty rests on the young forward again.
