The final round of games of the 2026 World Cup<\/a> group stage take place between Wednesday and Sunday. We’ve taken a look at the Group J permutations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve broken down each group, with this article focusing on Group J. Argentina<\/a> have sealed top spot but the match between Algeria<\/a> and Austria<\/a> is huge. Jordan<\/a> will finish bottom of Group J regardless of their result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below are all the permutations for those groups as well as who each team could face in the next round. It’s a little complicated but we’ve tried to make it as easy we can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Argentina have already secured top spot in Group J. Even if they were to lose on Matchday Three, they would win the group on account of their better head to head records against Austria and Algeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of Austria and Algeria, they face a winner takes all match on Matchday Three. If either side can win they will finish second and qualify outright for the Round of 32. A draw would be enough for Austria, who have the better goal difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jordan will finish bottom of the group regardless of their result against Argentina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who could the teams from Group J face in the next round?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Group J winner, who we know will be Argentina, will take on the side that finishes second in Group H. The current projection is that Uruguay will be that nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whoever finishes second will face the winner of Group H. That’s currently lining up to be Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current projections show that the side that finishes third in Group J will have done enough to make the Round of 32. That looks like to be the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n
