Although Boro have fallen considerably short of their Expected Points over the last six matches &#8211; amassing six compared to an xPts of 12.3 &#8211; they successfully built on the solid point earned against Ipswich last Sunday by seeing out a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday days ago. Results by any means necessary is the name of the game during the business end of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hornets, meanwhile, are rooted to the foot of the form table over the last six matches, drawing two and losing four, having shipped 10 and scoring only twice. Morale is at an all-time low for Ed Still and his team, making it almost impossible to make a case for anything other than a home win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since Philippe Clement replaced Liam Manning in the Norwich dugout back in November, the Canaries have dramatically risen up the table. From sitting four points adrift of safety to climbing to 9th with 17 wins and four draws from 29 league matches, the Belgian&#8217;s influence cannot be overstated. They&#8217;ve taken maximum points from their last two matches, beating Bristol City 4-2 last weekend before a 2-1 win over Derby in midweek, which leaves them within a mathematical chance of creeping into the final play-off place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Swansea, nothing but professional pride is on the line at this stage. Despite competing well in most matches, Vitor Matos&#8217; side have struggled away from home. The Swans are 15th in the 2025\/26 away table, losing 12 of their 22 fixtures compared to sitting 6th in relation to home matches, where they&#8217;ve suffered defeat half as many times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-three-potential-winners-in-the-championship-this-weekend\">Three potential winners in the Championship this weekend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-oxford\">Oxford<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Leicester&#8217;s relegation was rubber-stamped midweek, this game is a must-win for Oxford to stand any chance of avoiding confirmation of that same fate on Saturday. If Matt Bloomfield could handpick any opponent for keeping his side&#8217;s miniscule chances of survival alive it would certainly have to be Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the Owls have pulled out three draws from their last six games, only one win all season is an unignorable stat. An incredibly spirited midweek performance against Wrexham protects confidence heading into this one, and a recent 2-0 home win over Watford offers the blueprint for success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-zan-vipotnik\">Zan Vipotnik<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The division&#8217;s leading goal scorer boasts 22 goals in 42 games, and has shown few signs of letting up. This solo award looks all but wrapped up for the Slovenian, with Cov&#8217;s Haji Wright five goals worse off with just two games remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saturday&#8217;s contest with Norwich represents a difficult challenge given the hosts&#8217; current form, however, five goals in his last four games, as well as a brace back in October against the Canaries, could signal more joy for the 24 year old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hull\">Hull<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tigers are duking it out with Wrexham in a two-horse race for the league&#8217;s final play-off spot. Although Wednesday&#8217;s result is likely to have raised frustrations, they haven&#8217;t surrendered 6th place yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It definitely eases concerns that this weekend&#8217;s opponents are Charlton &#8211; a team who languish in 23rd in the form table, losing four of their last six. If ever there was a clear opportunity to climb back into the driving seat &#8211; in the same gameweek their competition face the champions &#8211; it&#8217;s this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-three-potential-losers-in-the-championship-this-weekend\">Three potential losers in the Championship this weekend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-leicester\">Leicester<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further boycotts are scheduled for Friday, meaning gate receipts and atmosphere are expected to be massively affected on Friday, albeit largely inconsequential at this stage. The Foxes already had their relegation confirmed on Wednesday following a 2-2 draw with 10-man Hull, and although things seem as though they can&#8217;t get any worse at the moment, that&#8217;s certainly far from the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gary Rowett has the unruly task of damage limitation at this point, especially when facing promotion-hungry Millwall in the weekend&#8217;s opener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-watford\">Watford<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As discussed prior, Watford&#8217;s 12:30pm kick-off with Middlesbrough feels like a foregone conclusion given the current state of things. Pre-match chatter surrounds calling for Ed Still&#8217;s departure from the club, with questions asked about their style of play and tactical decisions in addition to underwhelming results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contrary to that, Kim Hellberg&#8217;s appointment in late 2025 has transformed Boro into a high-flying promotion contender. His style of controlled chaos produced 10 wins from his first 14 games, and although that curve has since flattened out, automatic promotion remains within their reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-coventry\">Coventry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s debatable whether the champions can really be deemed losers regardless of Sunday&#8217;s result, however, a negative outcome at least has the potential to take some sheen off this weekend&#8217;s ceremony. Frank Lampard and his excellent Coventry side will not want to lift their trophy on the back of a defeat, but Phil Parkinson&#8217;s hungry visitors might have something to say on this historic occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a play-off spot still left to secure and direct competitors Hull facing the considerably easier task of an away trip to Charlton, the Red
