England<\/a> host Japan<\/a> at Wembley in the second of two international friendlies on Tuesday at 7:45pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Three Lions will be looking for a much-improved performance from their 1-1 draw against Uruguay on Friday, where they took the lead through Ben White late on, only to be pegged back by a 94th-minute Federico Valverde penalty. England made multiple errors in the final minutes, almost allowing Uruguay to score a shock winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan come into this match off the back of a 1-0 win over Scotland at Hampden on Saturday, with substitute Junya Ito bagging an 84th-minute winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

England predicted lineup vs Japan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

England (4-2-3-1): <\/strong>Pickford; White, Guehi, Konsa, Hall; Mainoo, Anderson; Bowen, Rogers, Gordon; Kane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of players have left Thomas Tuchel’s squad, but he still has plenty of quality to pick from. The likes of Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford and Morgan Rogers could all come into the side after sitting out the Uruguay match, while Lewis Hall, Kobbie Mainoo and others will want the start having seen minutes from the bench on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuchel named a 35-man squad for this international break, but that has been very quickly whittled down by injury-related withdrawals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jarell Quansah and Eberechi Eze were replaced by Ben White and Harvey Barnes. Meanwhile, after being unavailable against Uruguay, Declan Rice has left the squad for a medical assessment, and he’s joined on the way home by Arsenal teammates Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Wharton, John Stones, Aaron Ramsdale, Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have also left the squad, with Tuchel not calling up anybody else to replace them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuchel now has four goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders and eight forwards to pick from, and he’ll likely go with a strong side off the back of such a disappointing performance. <\/p>\n\n\n

    Thomas Tuchel takes valuable lessons from difficult Uruguay draw<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    From poor officiating to a surprise Ben White goal, just minutes after he was booed onto the pitch, it was a strange night at Wembley on Friday. England nearly ended up losing it at the end, and many fans will believe it was a match to forget sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    However, for Thomas Tuchel, it was a great learning experience, with the Three Lions boss taking the opportunity to give some new stars — James Garner, for example — a chance to shine ahead of the World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What’s more, there was some serious quality on show from Uruguay, including Valverde, Manuel Ugarte, Ronald Araujo and Jose Gimenez. Whether well-versed at national team level or a rookie making their debut, every England player was given a good examination by a side that will be a dark horse this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “I learned a lot because it was a tough opponent,” Tuchel said after the 1-1 Wembley draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “You just see it in the details. You learn a lot in the details, how is the behaviour and you see the level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “If you play against [Manuel] Ugarte, if you play against [Federico] Valverde in midfield, you see the level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “You play against the wingers and these defensive players, it’s a high level and then you instantly see so we needed this kind of test. I’m happy that we did it the way we did it and we learned a lot.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Japan have a completely different tactical set-up and ethos to Uruguay, and will present a new kind of test. Facing such a dynamic opponent will be a valuable exercise for England in preparation for any sides that wish to go after them in North America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Looking ahead to Tuesday’s game, Tuchel said: “Japan plays a very unique style with normally a back five, so wing-backs and then two 10s and then switching sides, so we need to be on point tactically to have solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “But this is what we expect from the guys who got a break and we will deliver some solutions, and they need to put it into life. But this is our work from [Saturday].”<\/p>\n\n\n
