Liverpool return to Champions League<\/a> action on Matchday Six against Inter Milan at the San Siro, still searching for stability in what has been a difficult season.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arne Slot’s side have struggled for form and this trip to Italy represents another major test as Liverpool<\/a> look to halt a run of poor form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match will take place on Tuesday 9th December at 8pm and will be broadcast live in the UK on Amazon Prime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool team news vs Inter Milan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mo Salah took part in Liverpool’s open training session on Monday, but won’t travel to Italy after his astonishing weekend outburst, which has thrown doubt over his future at the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeremie Frimpong remains sidelined with a hamstring complaint and young centre-back Giovanni Leoni is out long-term with an ACL injury, leaving Slot short of options if he wants to change up his leaky defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dutchman would ordinarily shuffle the pack after shipping three at Elland Road in a 3-3 draw with Leeds on Saturday, but Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson are the only realistic options. Of the pair, Robertson to replace Milos Kerkez looks more likely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexis Mac Allister could replace Curtis Jones in midfield, and as well as the Salah conundrum, Slot may look to freshen up his attack. Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa missed the opening training session and that could mean a start for misfiring record signing Alexander Isak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Isak does come into the forward line it could see Hugo Ekiteke, who scored twice for Liverpool against Leeds on Saturday, be shifted out to the left wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tenacious midfielder Wattaru Endo was also absent from training on Monday but was unlikely to start anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n

    What to make of Mo Salah’s omission?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Salah’s incredible interview overshadowed another poor performance from Liverpool and the club has two big decisions to make – one on their star player and another surrounding Slot, with suggestions that one will have to leave Merseyside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Salah has been way below his usual standards this season, with the 33-year-old scoring just four times in the Premier League, and many believe Slot was right to drop the Egyptian, who did not even get off the bench at Elland Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He has not scored since November 1st and has only two goals since mid-September in a remarkable fall from grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    However, Salah is not the only Liverpool player to have gone backwards this season and Slot has failed to successfully integrate a number of new signings, including Isak, Florian Wirtz and Kerkez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The champions are 10 points off the Premier League pace set by Arsenal and have already lost six times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Slot’s side also head to San Siro under pressure in the Champions League. They are only 13th in the table and have suffered defeats against Galatasaray and PSV Eindhoven to date.<\/p>\n\n\n
