Australian Jarred Gillett is in his fifth season of being a Premier League referee and he\u2019ll be in charge of the London Derby between West Ham<\/a> and Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> at the London Stadium on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gillett began his refereeing career in his native Australia and oversaw over 150 games in the country\u2019s top men\u2019s competition, the A-League, before making the move to Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 38-year-old took charge of his first games in the UK in the 2018\/19 season and became part of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited\u2019s (PGMOL) Select Group 1 ahead of the 2021\/22 season, allowing him to take charge of fixtures in the Premier League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is Gillett\u2019s first experience of taking charge of a clash between West Ham and Tottenham but he has overseen games involving these sides previously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has refereed West Ham on six occasions, including a 2-0 victory away at Manchester United<\/a> last season, and he has been in charge of 10 Tottenham fixtures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Ham lost their opening two Premier League games and were also dumped out of the EFL Cup by Wolves but they did claim a first win last time out with a 3-0 victory at Nottingham Forest<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spurs made an exceptional start with wins and clean sheets against Burnley <\/a>and Manchester City<\/a>, but slipped to a 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth <\/a>last time out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable performances<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

West Ham fans will have fond memories of the last time Gillett oversaw one of their games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Australian was the man in the middle at Old Trafford in May when goals from Tom\u00e1\u0161 Sou\u010dek and Jarrod Bowen saw the Hammers claim a first league victory at Manchester United since 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gillett has more experience refereeing Spurs games and the most notable game with him in charge perhaps came in a 4-2 loss at Brighton in 2023, where he awarded two penalties to the Seagulls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Gillett has taken charge of two games in the Premier League this season and awarded one penalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gold Coast native oversaw Arsenal\u2019s 5-0 win over Leeds in the opening round of games and was also in charge of Manchester City\u2019s 4-0 win at Wolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His last Spurs game was a 1-0 home defeat to City last season and he took charge of three of their fixtures in the league in 2024\/25, including a 1-0 home loss in a North London derby with Arsenal.  <\/p>\n\n\n
