Paris Saint-Germain will face Tottenham Hotspur in the 2025 Uefa Super Cup final on Wednesday 13th August at the Stadio Friuli in Udine, Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PSG are coming off their historic treble-winning season, while Spurs are fresh off their Europa League triumph. This game will be shown live at 8pm (UK time) on TNT Sports 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the face of it may seem a little wild, but I think Spurs are overpriced here and we are recommending a double of backing them at +2 on the match handicap, along with under 4.5 goals in the game. This means that if Spurs are beaten by one goal, or achieve a better result, combined with under five goals in the game, this bet is a winner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luis Enrique\u2019s squad hasn\u2019t played since their 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final back in mid-July. Like many teams involved in that tournament, PSG are expected to start the new season a bit slow, carefully managing their players to avoid injuries ahead of next year\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the departure of Son Heung-min, there will be even more impetus on the Welshman to perform in the final third. Johnson scored an impressive 18 goals across all formats for Spurs last season and looks a solid proposition to test new keeper Lucas Chevalier in the PSG goal on Wednesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

PSG capped off the 2024\u201325 season with a historic treble, securing the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, and their first-ever Champions League title. Over the summer, they suffered an uncharacteristic defeat against Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, falling 3-0 to Enzo Mareca’s side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, though, the expectations on PSG remain the same as they’ve been for almost a decade – to win the Champions League. This time, the focus shifts from the overbearing burden of winning their first title to whether they can defend their status as champions. The Parisians are undeniably heavy favourites coming into this match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham’s 2024\u201325 season was a tale of contrasts, marked by a historic European triumph and domestic struggles. In the Premier League, Spurs endured a challenging campaign, finishing 17th with just 38 points and 22 losses – their lowest top-flight finish in 48 years. Suspended for the Club World Cup final, Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez are now available again. On the flip side, Joao Neves faces a two-match ban after a late red card, ruling him out of this game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham\u2019s injury woes continue as James Maddison faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after tearing his ACL in a preseason friendly against Newcastle. Alongside him, Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin remain out with long-term injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic Solanke has also struggled with fitness throughout preseason, and although he\u2019s expected back soon, he probably won\u2019t feature in this match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another concern for Spurs is left-back Destiny Udogie, who is doubtful for both this game and the league opener against Burnley. This leaves manager Frank with a depleted squad heading into the new season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
