Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to return to winning ways when they travel to face Bournemouth on Wednesday at 7:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Frank’s side have won just one of their past five league games, drawing their past two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): <\/strong>Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies; Bentancur, Gray; Tel, Simons, Richarlison; Kolo Muani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The run of form has seen Tottenham drop down to 13th in the league, though they remain just seven points outside the top four. Spurs are winless in their past three games outside the capital and have lost two of their past three league games against Bournemouth — drawing the other. So there will be a lot of pressure on Frank to turn things around quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of the dropped points against Sunderland, there was more bad news for Tottenham at the weekend. Mohammed Kudus lasted less than 20 minutes before having to come off with an injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frank revealed it was a muscle problem, and the Ghanaian is unlikely to be available so soon after, even with further tests to be run. Wilson Odobert also had to come off with an injury, being caught in the head with an elbow. He’s a doubt for this game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there is a positive in the attack. Xavi Simons will be available once more after serving a three-game suspension for his red card against Liverpool. He’s likely to go straight back into the starting XI in the No.10 role.<\/p>\n\n\n

    We may see some rotation in the attack too. Mathys Tel could be pushed over to the right to replace Kudus, with Richarlison dropping to the left. Randal Kolo Muani would then lead the line in the Brazilian’s place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Rodrigo Bentancur received his fifth yellow card of the season against Sunderland, but as it came in Gameweek 20, the threshold for suspension has been increased to 10 yellows. Joao Palhinha similarly escapes suspension for his fifth yellow card at the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    So Bentancur will start in the midfield, with Archie Gray likely to play alongside him. The youngster has been favoured ahead of Palhinha, with Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tottenham’s back five should remain the same from the draw against Sunderland, with Ben Davies starting ahead of Djed Spence. Destiny Udogie remains injured, as does Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke and James Maddison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Midweek form to forget<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Neutrals may want to avoid this game, especially if they want to see a win. Tottenham haven’t won a midweek Premier League game since January 2024, beating Brentford 3-2, after going a goal down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Spurs have failed to win their 10 midweek league games since, drawing three and losing seven. It’s their longest such run in Premier League history. But Bournemouth don’t look like a team capable of capitalising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Cherries are also on a barren midweek run. Bournemouth are winless in their last seven midweek Premier League matches, drawing three and losing four. That came after a run of seven wins from eight in midweek. Bournemouth are on a poor run overall, too. Andoni Iraola’s side are winless in their past 11 Premier League games, drawing five and losing six. <\/p>\n\n\n
