Man City could be five men short for their final league phase game of this year’s Champions League campaign.<\/p>\n

Ruben Dias was forced off at half-time in their 4-2 defeat by PSG last time out in the competition,. Jeremy Doku missed the clash with an issue and will again be unavailable. Both players were absent from Pep Guardiola’s squad in their win over Chelsea<\/a> on the weekend.<\/p>\n

Oscar Bobb is on his way back from his long-term injury and, while he is targeting a return at the start of February, there are no signs he will be in contention on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n\n

There is also no word on Nathan Ake’s status but he is expected to be out. Capping off Man City’s injury woes is Rodri, who has been sidelined for most of the season after rupturing his ACL in September.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Club Brugge travel to Manchester with a fully strengthened squad. The Belgian side are expected to be without any absentees as they look to extend their 20-game unbeaten run in all competitions.<\/p>\n

Judgement day for Man City<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Anything less than three points for Man City means they will miss out on the Champions League knockout stage for the first time since 2012-13.<\/p>\n

They lie 25th in the table on eight points, two behind VfB Stuttgart in the final qualification spot, meaning a draw on Wednesday will not cut it.<\/p>\n

However, Club Brugge sit 20th on 11 points, and a point for them on the road would secure qualification to the knockout phase playoffs.<\/p>\n

Man City have won just two games at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League since March 2024, but have won their last three home games in all competitions coming into Wednesday night’s affair.<\/p>\n

Elimination in the group phase would be a first for Guardiola in his illustrious 18-year managerial career, in a season where he has broken all sorts of wrong records in regards to losing streaks, heaviest defeats and the like.<\/p>\n

Man City’s 4-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> in November marked the largest margin of defeat in the Spaniard’s coaching career, while that result was also his side’s fourth loss in a row at the time — his longest losing streak ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 15 trips, Club Brugge have never won a competitive game on English soil; their last trip to the country saw them lose 4-1 in a Champions League group stage game — against Man City of all opponents.<\/p>\n
