    Tottenham team news vs Newcastle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Things are looking pretty bleak for Tottenham right now, with Cristian Romero’s red card against Manchester United and subsequent suspension only adding to the mountain of selection issues faced by Frank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Alongside Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso are out injured until late February, joined by Destiny Udogie, who picked up a muscle problem at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Alongside them on what is a seriously overworked treatment table are Ben Davies, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, Richarlison, Mohammed Kudus and Rodrigo Bentancur, who all have more long-term issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There is some light relief in the fact that Djed Spence should be able to return to the squad soon, but even he remains touch-and-go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dark clouds gather for Tottenham and Thomas Frank<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    It’s been an absolutely wretched season for Tottenham, whose defeat to United made it seven without a win in the Premier League and just two victories in their last 16 top-flight matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As a result, the Lilywhites have slipped all the way to 14th in the table on 29 points, just six clear of the relegation zone and a massive 15 adrift of the top four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On home form alone, Spurs are 17th, with just two wins from 12 on their own patch and 10 points — only Wolves have fewer with five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Thomas Frank is very much fighting for his job, with Spurs doing little if anything to suggest they’re moving forward from Ange Postecoglou’s reign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There have been whispers that Mauricio Pochettino could return after the 2026 World Cup. The only way Frank is going to crush those sorts of rumours is by winning football matches, starting here against an equally beleaguered Newcastle side who have lost four of their last five across all competitions, failing to win during that time. <\/p>\n\n\n
