Arsenal<\/a> dropped two points in their final Premier League<\/a> match before the international break.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta’s men were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> at the Emirates Stadium, with both teams maintaining their unbeaten starts.<\/p>\n

However, that didn’t tell the full picture, as the Gunners will resume league duties at bitter neighbours Tottenham without Declan Rice to call upon.<\/p>\n

After receiving a yellow card in the first half for a tackle on Jo\u00ebl Veltman, Rice was dismissed four minutes into the second half for nudging the ball away from the same player as he was about to take a free kick.<\/p>\n

Despite making minimal contact with the ball, Rice was cautioned again for “delaying the restart,” according to the official Premier League match centre. When asked if he was given an explanation, Arteta’s reply was succinct: “None, like always.”<\/p>\n

After being informed of the Premier League’s statement, the Gunners head coach lamented the decision even further. “If it [bookings] happens throughout the game in a consistent manner, it is fine, but it didn’t. It is the inconsistency,” he said.<\/p>\n
