Two managers under great pressure will lock horns at Selhurst Park on Monday when Crystal Palace host Chelsea. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Blues are looking to build on their 3-1 midweek FA Cup victory at Aston Villa, a victory which looks to have given Mauricio Pochettino some breathing space.<\/p>\n

Chelsea next face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, with the Eagles having won their last two home league games against Brentford and Sheffield United.<\/p>\n

However, heavy defeats at Arsenal and arch-rivals Brighton have left Palace just five points above the drop zone, with some fans calling for change, and boss Roy Hodgson is desperate for a positive result against the Blues.<\/p>\n

Mauricio Pochettino urges Chelsea to ‘move on’ from the past<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since 2005, few teams have enjoyed success on the level Chelsea have, with five league titles, eight domestic cups and five European trophies to name but a few of their achievements.<\/p>\n

However, times have changed and the Blues find themselves in a lean period, currently occupying 11th place in the Premier League table after finishing 12th last season and going without a title since the 2016\/17 campaign.<\/p>\n

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to get Chelsea back on track and their 3-1 away win at high-flying Aston Villa in the FA Cup during the week was certainly a positive step. But Pochettino remains realistic about where this team’s development is up to and has called upon fans and pundits alike to ‘move on’ from the Chelsea of decades past.<\/p>\n

“We need to stop this thing that we are Chelsea from 20 years ago. We are not this type of Chelsea anymore. Now we need to move on and we need to create this project,” Pochettino said as part of a defence of his players’ exuberant celebrations for Chelsea’s third goal against Villa.<\/p>\n

He continued: “We need to move on, I don’t care if people are happy or not happy with my speech. I care for the club, I care for my players, I want to help the players.<\/p>\n

“We are going to fight, I don’t care what the people say. I’m not more sad or happy today after a win because we have experience, this type of project needs time and trust.<\/p>\n

“We cannot build a team to challenge because you need to fix too many things, you need to observe, analyse and compete.<\/p>\n

“We are building a project which may be one year, two years, three years. Today you can see we were ready to fight. We fight for the fans, the badge, the coaching staff. Now the challenge is to be consistent.”<\/p>\n

    Crystal Palace vs Chelsea team news<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Palace will have to do without their two most creative players with Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze both injured. Marc Guehi, Cheick Doucoure, Rob Holding and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi have also been ruled out for the Eagles.<\/p>\n

    Thiago Silva is expected to return to the Chelsea defence in place of Benoit Badiashile, who suffered a groin injury in the FA Cup victory over Aston Villa in midweek.<\/p>\n

    The game may come too early for Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah, while Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Romeo Lavia and Robert Sanchez are all still unavailable.<\/p>\n
