Glen Johnson believes Chelsea should strengthen their attack in January.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s so far been an underwhelming Premier League campaign for the six-time English champions, who installed Mauricio Pochettino as manager this past summer.<\/p>\n

After their opening 12 matches, Chelsea sit 10th having won four times while losing the same amount of games. Overall the Blues have scored 21 goals, the second-fewest (behind Manchester United, 13) of those placed above 11th place.<\/p>\n

But no fewer than eight were scored in Chelsea’s last two outings — 4-1 win over Tottenham and 4-4 draw with Manchester City — and summer acquisition Nicolas Jackson was responsible for half of those strikes.<\/p>\n

“The hat-trick against Tottenham would have helped Jackson massively, even if it was against nine men, that would have given him huge confidence,” Johnson told Squawka.<\/p>\n

“He’s always worked hard and even when he wasn\u2019t scoring he was threatening, so now it\u2019s about kicking on and showing us that he can be a top striker.”<\/p>\n
