Bayer Leverkusen left-back Alejandro Grimaldo has revealed a desire to one day play in La Liga.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grimaldo, 28, came through Barcelona’s esteemed youth set-up but never represented their first team instead breaking through at Benfica from where he joined Bayer this summer.<\/p>\n\n

However, the Lisbon powerhouse never received compensation as Grimaldo’s contract expired, their loss has been Die Werkself’s gain.<\/p>\n

An ever-present under Xabi Alonso this season Grimaldo has only missed five minutes of Bundesliga action. To say he’s been productive would be an understatement.<\/p>\n

The native of Valencia has bagged eight goals in all competitions to date with four of those coming from outside the box which is the most of any player in Europe\u2019s five big leagues across all competitions this season.<\/p>\n

He’s also created five more as Bayer Leverkusen heads the German championship through 11 matches played. Having received a first international call-up, and hoping to make his Spain debut, Grimaldo isn’t ruling out experiencing Spanish football’s top division in the future.<\/p>\n
