With just eight gameweeks left, there isn’t much time to grab some all-important points and gain the advantage in your Fantasy Premier League competitions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is drama all across the Premier League, with Arsenal and Man City fighting it out for the title, a host of teams eyeing European qualification and one of the tightest relegation battles in history making this one of the most exciting run-ins in recent memory.<\/p>\n

And that could pay dividends in FPL, with points coming from some unusual places. Several teams could grab the advantage in the scrap to avoid the drop, whilst key battles at the other end of the table could see huge points being put up by some of the big names in FPL.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, we’ve assembled a 15-man squad (within a budget of 100M) you should be considering, taking into account value, points, performances and fixtures when using your wildcard.<\/p>\n

Gameweek 31 Wildcard picks<\/strong><\/h2>\n

David de Gea (\u00a35m)<\/h4>\n

FPL points so far: 118<\/em>
\nFixture: Nottingham Forest (A)<\/em><\/p>\n

It could be a good week for Manchester United fans, with a trip to floundering Nottingham Forest on the cards. David de Gea has kept three clean sheets in his last four games and comes up against a Forest side that have scored just 24 goals in 30 games this season. With United chasing a top-four finish and looking accomplished in defence, it could be a match made in clean sheet heaven.<\/p>\n

John Stones (\u00a35.4m)<\/h4>\n

FPL points so far: 65<\/em>
\nFixture: Leicester (H)<\/em><\/p>\n

It’s not been a colossal season for John Stones in terms of FPL points, but a recent change in shape for Man City has seen the England defender move into a central midfield role. With an increased chance of picking up some attacking points, combined with a Man City defence that has conceded less than a goal a game this season, it could be a strong end to the season for the ball-playing centre back to increase his points total.<\/p>\n

Kieran Trippier (\u00a36.2m)<\/h4>\n

FPL points so far: 170<\/em>
\nFixture: Aston Villa (A)<\/em><\/p>\n

It’s been quite the season for the Newcastle right back. With 7 assists this term, Trippier has been the most creative defender available this year but that hasn’t been to the detriment of his defensive output. He’s kept the most clean sheets (15) and earned more FPL points (170) than any other defender. It’s not even close either, with Ben White being the second-highest earning defender with 129 points.<\/p>\n

Nathan Ake (\u00a35.1m)<\/h4>\n

FPL points so far: 68<\/em>
\nFixture: Leicester (H)<\/em><\/p>\n

Nathan Ake’s time at Man City hasn’t always been a success but he’s firmly entrenched himself in the line up now, with Pep Guardiola recently describing him as ‘undroppable’. Quite the endorsement, and it’s easy to see why. Three clean sheets in his last five games and more FPL points than any other City defender means Ake is a lock to bring into your team this week, especially against a Leicester side that seem to be in freefall.<\/p>\n
