The 2023 January transfer window was a naturally frenetic affair, with Chelsea continuing their spending spree under shopaholic Todd Boehly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Uninhibited by financial constraints, the American tycoon sanctioned another transfer war chest \u2014 and Graham Potter duly filled his boots, bringing in a collection of superstars and household names; one of whom, Enzo Fernandez, was secured for a British-record \u00a3106.8m transfer.<\/p>\n

Of course, Chelsea were not the only compulsive shoppers last month. Most clubs were active in one way or another, whether authorising departures, exploring loans or mopping up youngsters. In fact, some have even been busy after the window has already slammed shut.<\/p>\n

Nottingham Forest drew headlines in the summer for their extravagant spending habits \u2014 and that spilled over to the winter for Steve Cooper\u2019s side with the club making several additional signings. But, not even the fixed parameters of a transfer window can prevent the promoted club from bolstering with aplomb, with Forest making Andre Ayew their 30th signing of the season earlier this week following his release from Al Sadd.<\/p>\n
