Brighton & Hove Albion booked their place in the FA Cup fifth-round draw after running out 2-1 winners over cup holders Liverpool this afternoon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Nothing illustrates this more than Trent Alexander-Arnold’s curious decline in performance. He wouldn’t last an hour as Japanese international winger Kaoru Mitoma continually made his life difficult. Alexander-Arnold looked less than amused when coming off but you have to believe Klopp was doing him a favour. Mitoma was irresistible driving the ball forward having completed six of his nine attempted take-ons which is more than anyone else on the pitch managed.<\/p>\n

    Mitoma’s rapid acceleration and electric pace was too much for Alexander-Arnold to handle but his manager Roberto De Zerbi would have liked a consistent end product. Before netting the winning goal, a delicious piece of individual close control brilliance, he would create one meaningful chance when his low cross was met by the onrushing Solly March, but Alisson responded with an excellent, close-range save before the ball ricocheted back off March and out for a goal kick.<\/p>\n
