Bruno Fernandes has explained the unusual pre-match superstition he carries out before taking to the turf for Manchester United.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pre-match superstitions are commonplace among football fans, whether it\u2019s wearing a \u2018lucky\u2019 shirt, buying from the same programme stall or putting on one sock before the other, we’ve all been there — but some players also dabble in the mythic wonder of irrational matchday routine.<\/p>\n

We’ve heard of some players needing to get a new haircut before every<\/em> game, playing a certain song in the dressing room beforehand and even refusing to shoot during the pre-match warm-up, so as not to ‘waste’ goals in the training drill.<\/p>\n\n

Fernandes is one such player who sings from this same superstitious song sheet, and he has now revealed his<\/em> rather peculiar pre-match routine. For most footballers, a superstition takes place either in the dressing room, or earlier in the day, but for Fernandes, it occurs the moment he steps foot onto the pitch (literally).<\/p>\n

The Manchester United star has several more sensible pre-match dos and don’ts, but there is one rather bizarre one that really catches the eye. \u201cI always do the same,” <\/span>Fernandes told the club’s official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
