Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn has gone on record to discuss the club’s chances of signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer following the confirmed departure of Robert Lewandowski.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barcelona recently announced they have agreed a deal in principle for Lewandowski from the German champions this transfer window, opening the door for the Bavarians to chase after a new No. 9 — and Kane has emerged as a reported target.<\/p>\n

The England international has long been linked with a move away from north London, most notably last summer after Manchester City saw several offers rebuffed by the Tottenham hierarchy, and now Bayern are thought to be weighing up a bid of their own.<\/p>\n

Whether or not an offer materialises remains to be seen, but Bayern CEO Kahn has now addressed the rumours. He remained tight-lipped when discussing the possibility of moving for Kane, though he didn’t entirely close the door on a potential offer.<\/p>\n

“He is under contract at Tottenham,” he told German publication Bild<\/em>. “Sure, he is an absolute top striker, but that’s all a dream of the future.<\/p>\n

“So let’s see what happens.”<\/p>\n\n

Kahn was also quizzed on another Premier League star, with Cristiano Ronaldo a name that has been strongly associated with a move to Bavaria this summer, though the goalkeeping legend was quick to downplay a move for the Manchester United forward.<\/p>\n

He continued: “I love Cristiano Ronaldo and everyone knows what a fantastic player he is. But every club has a certain philosophy and I’m not sure if it would be the right signal for Bayern if we signed him.”<\/p>\n

So far this summer Julian Nagelsmann has strengthened with the signings of former Liverpool star Sadio Mane, Dutch wonderkid Ryan Gravenberch for \u00a320m, and attacking right-back Noussair Mazraoui on a free transfer from Ajax.<\/p>\n
