Paul Pogba has conceded that Manchester United season is “dead” after their recent Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid — and has further intimated that his return to Old Trafford has been hugely ‘unsatisfying’.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Frenchman has candidly offered a brutal assessment of his current situation at Old Trafford and has increasingly heightened speculation that he will be off once the 2021\/22 campaign comes to an end and his contract expires at the end of June.<\/p>\n

Man Utd remain a club in perennial flux since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down nearly a decade ago now, and this season has further highlighted the sheer gulf currently separating them from Premier League and Champions League dreamers Manchester City and Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Having parted company with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a highly inconsistent start to the season, interim incumbent Ralf Rangnick has done little to abate the growing frustration on the terraces and steer the club in the right direction, with cup exits to Atleti and Middlesbrough denting his reputation.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

The Red Devils remain in pursuit of a Premier League top four finish, but Arsenal are currently in the box seat and look good value for their current position in fourth, four points ahead of Rangnick’s men and<\/em> with a game in hand. It’s not looking promising for Rangnick.<\/p>\n

Pogba, who recently linked up with the France national team, also took the opportunity to issue a thinly-veiled swipe at Rangnick, suggesting his own form has been hampered by persistent changes to his role on the pitch, a problem he doesn’t encounter with Didier Deschamps.<\/p>\n

“It’s simple with France, I play and I play in my position \u2013 I know my role and I feel the confidence of the coach and the players,” Pogba added.<\/p>\n
