All great players do that, an amazing pass.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n\n<hr \/>\n<p>Cancelo is seemingly improving every time he steps on the field, and while Guardiola has to be happy he is also not about to let his brilliant full-back get complacent.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking before the match, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/sport\/football\/football-news\/man-city-news-walker-guardiola-22220589\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guardiola said<\/a>: &#8220;r<span>ight now [Cancelo]&#8217;s playing like Philipp [Lahm] played at Bayern when we were together,\u201d comparing his full-back to the gallant German who starred while Guardiola was in Munich. &#8220;In that position, the full-back a little bit inside, not just overlaps, Philipp is the best player I have ever seen in my entire life.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The data visualisation doesn&#39;t do it much justice. ? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aPpZlNvJhS\">pic.twitter.com\/aPpZlNvJhS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Squawka (@Squawka) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Squawka\/status\/1462435884750413827?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 21, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>So it&#8217;s clear that Guardiola is setting a high bar for Cancelo to clear, but it&#8217;s only that he thinks Cancelo can reach. &#8220;But <span>Joao, like Dani Alves for example, could play in that position. He definitely has the quality.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the gauntlet thrown down to Joao Cancelo, then.
