Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he almost joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier in his career, but would now rather retire than move to Arsenal’s bitter north London rivals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 32-year-old joined the Gunners in January 2018 from Borussia Dortmund for \u00a356m, and has since gone on to score 92 goals in 159 appearances for the club, winning an FA Cup in that time, claiming the Premier League’s 2018\/19 Golden Boot and even picking up the captain’s armband.<\/p>\n\n

He has also been involved in eight north London derbies during his Arsenal career, scoring four goals against Spurs to add to the four he already netted against them during his prolific stint at Borussia Dortmund, most recently getting on the scoresheet as Mikel Arteta’s men won 3-1 in September.<\/p>\n

A thorn in Tottenham’s side recently, it could have been a completely difference story for the Lilywhites had they followed through on their initial interest in the Gabon international some years ago, with the club blanking Aubameyang after holding talks with him.<\/p>\n

When asked by\u00a0<\/span>Sky Sports<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>whether he would rather retire or join Spurs, Aubameyang responded: “You don’t need to ask the question, you know it [the answer] already, I would retire.<\/p>\n
