La Liga has a number of players who love nothing more than taking on their opposition man, and are pretty hand at winning their personal duels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not only is a successful take-on so good to watch, especially when players weave through defenders, it can also be the difference between three points and zero and the best dribblers can command huge transfer fees.<\/p>\n

Shock horror, Lionel Messi was the dribbling king last season. The Argentine was one of just two players to complete 100+ take-ons in La Liga in 2020\/21, completing 159 in total, more than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues. But he’ll obviously relinquish that crown after departing Barcelona for PSG.<\/p>\n

Leading the way to take the crown is Vinicius Junior who has completed 36 take-ons so far this season, five more than any other player. There is no clear top three as things stand, with four players tied on 31, all fighting each other while trying to catch Vinicius. They are Yannick Carrasco, Nabil Fekir, Goncalo Guedes and Javi Galan, with the latter also leading the way for tackles in La Liga.<\/p>\n

Things are very close below that quartet, with just three take-ons between them and Memphis Depay who completes the top 10, with the likes of Sergino Dest and Lucas Boye also making the early standings.<\/p>\n
