Brian Brobbey has admitted he had to search the internet to find out about RB Leipzig’s new head coach Jesse Marsch following the departure of Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brobbey, 19, signed a contract with RB Leipzig in March from Ajax, at a point when Nagelsmann was in charge of the Saxony-based club, but just a month later the 34-year-old tactician penned a deal to succeed Hansi Flick at the Allianz Arena.<\/p>\n

Teenage sensation Brobbey says he was reassured by Nagelsmann that he would be staying at the Red Bull Arena beyond the summer, but the temptation to lead Germany’s most-decorated club was an offer the young technocrat could not spurn.<\/p>\n\n

Staying true to form, RB Leipzig decided to find an affiliate successor, drafting in American coach Marsch from sister club Red Bull Salzburg, with the 47-year-old previously occupying the dugout in Saxony as Ralf Rangnick’s assistant in 2018\/19.<\/p>\n

Despite his previous spell at Die Roten Bullen,\u00a0<\/i>and having worked with some of the finest talent in the game at Salzburg in Erling Haaland, Patson Daka and Dominik Szoboszlai, Brobbey has confessed he wasn’t sure who his new coach was and had to Google search to find out.<\/p>\n

“When it was clear that Jesse was going to be the new coach, I first checked the internet!” Brobbey told\u00a0<\/span>Bild<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to know how he played and I saw his speech from the game with Salzburg in Liverpool.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

“It was a little strange for me because [Nagelsmann] said he was staying. But I had a good conversation with Jesse and he’s a very good coach. Now we speak almost every day. I’m glad I’m here.<\/p>\n

“I have to train hard every day and show myself to offer myself to the coach. Then he has to decide who to put up. But I want to be important to the team.”<\/p>\n

How are Leipzig shaping up post-Nagelsmann?<\/h2>\n

Leipzig have not stuttered this summer, with Marsch already bringing in no fewer than seven players as he prepares his charges for the 2021\/22 campaign, looking to one up his predecessor and finally break Bayern Munich’s stranglehold on the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

Joining on a free, Brobbey could prove one of the shrewdest acquisitions this summer, with the Ducth wonderkid bursting onto the scene in Amsterdam last season, in which he netted six goals across 19 games for Erik ten Hag’s Ajax.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also through the Red Bull Arena entrance is Andre Silva from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Portuguese sharpshooter finishing second only to Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Bundesliga’s Kicker-Torjagerkanone<\/em> for top goalscorer. He netted an eye-opening 28 goals.<\/p>\n

Angelino has made his switch from Manchester City a permanent one, with the buccaneering full-back joining on a \u00a316.4m deal, while the club also triggered the option to make Benjamin Henrichs’ temporary move from Monaco a fixed transfer in April.<\/p>\n
