Gael Clichy believes Arsenal would be an ideal stylistic match for Sergio Aguero this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Argentine superstar confirmed at the end of last month that he will be leaving the Etihad in the summer, bringing an end to a glittering decade in the North West, during which time the 32-year-old has hoovered up domestic medals aplenty and etched his name in Manchester City folklore.<\/p>\n

Aguero, who joined the club in 2011 from Atletico Madrid, has left an indelible mark on the City jersey, netting 257 goals to overtake the likes of Colin Bell and Eric Brook as the club’s all-time record scorer, which will be embellished in bronze as chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak confirmed a statue will be erected in his honour.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has been the poster boy of City’s rise to domestic supremacy during the 2010s, forming the spine of an illustrious side that featured David Silva and Vincent Kompany, while his name will forever be synonymous with last-gasp glory, having netted that<\/em> dramatic late equaliser to seal City the title in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aguero released a statement to confirm his departure and reach out to the fans, whom he has forged an “indestructible bond” with, while also going on to offer his pledge that he will “continue competing at the highest level”, where-ever his future may lie.<\/span><\/p>\n

    And that future, according to one of Aguero’s former teammates, Clichy, would chime perfectly with the ball-playing philosophy of Arsenal, believing both player and club would suit each-other like a hand to a glove.<\/span><\/p>\n

    “Can he see himself at another English club? That\u2019s the question. He loves the sun,” Clichy told Stadium Astro<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “I would like to see him stay [in England] to get to second or third in goals, but I think he will move away from the Premier League.<\/p>\n

    “I think Arsenal is a good fit, in terms of style of play. They play nice football and they create opportunities.”<\/p>\n

    The Frenchman went on to add that although the philosophy of Arsenal would mesh well with Aguero’s instinctive attacking prowess, he “really doubts he would go there,” believing the Argentine is more likely to venture overseas and relocate to the technical pastures of La Liga.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If a move to Arsenal is not forthcoming this summer, then Mikel Arteta would welcome the Argentine upping sticks and moving abroad, as he has netted an incredible 11 goals against the Gunners during his time in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

    Arteta, who worked alongside Aguero during his coaching days under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, believes his former colleague is simply “one of the best”, adding that he is a “unique” talent who matches his cut-throat scoring instinct with “charisma and personality”.<\/span><\/p>\n

    “You need some ability, you need some quality players to create moments to start to build a project like they did and Sergio was probably the biggest face on the project,” Arteta remarked on City’s rise in the <\/a>Sheikh Mansour era<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    “Not only the way he plays, his charisma, his personality, the way he is. He’s loved by everybody at that club. It’s sad to see someone leaving like him but I think with what he’s done, he’ll be there for history.<\/p>\n
