The race for the Premier League top four is an intriguing one. It gets even better when you consider that fifth could be enough to secure Champions League<\/a> football next season. Man City are currently occupying that fifth spot, though it seems that nobody really wants to lock a position down. The Citizens have contrived to lose three of their last five games, including their last outing against Nottingham Forest<\/a> at the City Ground.<\/p>\n

Brighton are one of several teams outside the top four chasing Champions League football and they’re hitting form at just the right time. The Seagulls have won their past four games, scoring 11 goals and conceding just twice. They’ve been an interesting team away from home, with just one defeat from their past seven league games on the road – although that was a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Forest.<\/p>\n

Manchester City’s injury issues are set to continue. Nathan Ake is expected to miss this game, joining Oscar Bobb, Manuel Akanji, John Stones and Rodri on the sidelines. Phil Foden always enjoys playing against Brighton, scoring eight times against the Seagulls, so he will hope start.<\/p>\n

Brighton team news<\/h3>\n

Tariq Lamptey will return for Brighton after suspension following his red card in the FA Cup<\/a> win over Newcastle United<\/a> and there could be more good news for Fabian Hurzeler. Lewis Dunk and Matt O’Riley could both be set to return in this game although Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor Julio, James Milner and Jason Steele all remain out.<\/p>\n
