Five things to know&#8230;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Benzema hasn&#8217;t played for France since 2015.<\/li>\n<li>Prior to that, he had managed 27 goals in 81 caps.<\/li>\n<li>Giroud has scored 39 goals in 97 caps for Les Bleus and helped them win the 2018 World Cup.<\/li>\n<li>But Benzema has thrived at club level, winning four Champions League titles with Real Madrid.<\/li>\n<li>Benzema has doubled down on his comments saying he is more like Formula One and Giroud go-karting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-color: transparent; display: block; padding: 0; max-width: 700px;\" title=\"Audioboom player\" src=\"https:\/\/embeds.audioboom.com\/posts\/7533381\/embed\/v4\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Benzema hasn&#8217;t been capped for France since 2015 due to a falling out with the French Football Federation and former teammate Mathieu Valbuena. That&#8217;s what I think, that&#8217;s the truth, and that&#8217;s how it is.<\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;Because now, if you ask me with R9 (Ronaldo): R9 is F1, and I am karting. That&#8217;s the way it is. We&#8217;re going to move on.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Benzema vs Giroud<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Prior to the suspension of football this season, Benzema had netted 19 goals in 36 games across all competitions for Real Madrid. In fact, he&#8217;s been the one consistent forward at the club since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.<\/p>\n<p>At club level, and at least in recent seasons, Giroud has struggled in comparison to his fellow Frenchman.
