Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has declared Ederson fit ahead of their clash with Chelsea at the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 26-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper missed City’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool before the international break due to a hamstring injury, meaning veteran Claudio Bravo had to deputise.<\/p>\n

    But while many of his City teammates were away on international duty, Ederson was working on his fitness and Guardiola has confirmed the goalkeeper returned to training during that period.<\/p>\n

    “He has been training the last two or three days without pain,” he told<\/a> reporters during his Friday press conference.<\/p>\n

    Although the Citizens will welcome the return of Ederson as they seek to close a now nine-point gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool, they will have to continue without centre-back Aymeric Laporte and winger Leroy Sane, who remain sidelined with knee ligament injuries.<\/p>\n
