Timo Werner believes Robert Lewandowski is operating at the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 31-year-old Bayern Munich marksman is enjoying a productive season in front of goal having bagged 23 goals across 18 matches in all competitions to date.<\/p>\n

    Lewandowski’s efforts in the Bundesliga have him as the current frontrunner in the race for this season’s European golden boot, and only Messi (29) has scored more than him (28) across Europe’s top 10 leagues in 2019. Ronaldo has five goals in Serie A with Juventus this term so far and 12 in 2019 overall.<\/p>\n

    Last time out against former club Borussia Dortmund, Lewandowski maintained his record of scoring in every league outing while smashing Gerd Muller’s record for the most Bundesliga goals scored in the opening 11 matchdays.<\/p>\n

    Bayern’s number nine has now registered 16 goals, one more than the legendary German centre-forward managed 55 years ago, and he is currently one of just two players in Germany’s top flight to have reached double figures.<\/p>\n

    The other is RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner (on 11), who has been incessantly linked with a transfer to Bayern, where he is thought to be seen as a potential long-term successor to Lewandowski.
