Mauricio Pochettino has questioned whether he will be given the time to turn Tottenham’s fortunes around after their big summer of spending.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spurs, who didn’t make a single acquisition in the 2018\/19 season, made French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele their most expensive signing for a reported \u00a354m when he joined from Lyon in July.<\/p>\n

    He wasn’t the only new face, with Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso arriving from Real Betis – initially on a season-long loan – and highly-rated multi-functional teenager Ryan Sessegnon crossing the capital.<\/p>\n

    A number of players were reportedly linked with departures, notably Chistian Erisken and Toby Alderweireld (who are both in the final year of their present contracts), but there hasn’t been a mass exodus with Kieran Trippier the only regular first-team to depart before the 2019\/20 campaign began.<\/p>\n

    When asked after hie side’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United, which no doubt places further pressure on his shoulders, if it will be a gradual process before we see the Spurs team he wants Pochettino was frank in his assessment and hinted that time might be against him.<\/p>\n
