Five things to know&#8230;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Once considered the world&#8217;s leading goalkeeper, Neuer&#8217;s reputation has taken a hit of late.<\/li>\n<li>The German&#8217;s performances at the 2018 World Cup were below par following an injury-hit campaign.<\/li>\n<li>What&#8217;s more, he has been involved in a war of words with his main competition, Marc-Andre ter Stegen.<\/li>\n<li>Ter Stegen thinks he should be playing more often, but Neuer says it is not the Barcelona star&#8217;s place to decide.<\/li>\n<li>And now Uli Hoeness has threatened to prevent Germany from calling up Bayern players if Neuer is dropped.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-color: transparent; display: block; padding: 0; max-width: 700px;\" title=\"Audioboom player\" src=\"https:\/\/embeds.audioboom.com\/posts\/7373702-tammy-abraham-can-equal-a-unique-luis-suarez-feat-vs-liverpool\/embed\/v4?image_option=full\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ter Stegen and Neuer have been involved in a war of words lately, with the Barcelona goalkeeper suggesting he should be playing more often.<\/p>\n<p>Neuer has told Ter Stegen it is not his place to decide who should be starting between the sticks, though the respective form of the two goalkeepers has led to calls for the latter to become Germany&#8217;s number one.<\/p>\n<p>However, Hoeness has made a threat to the German FA if they do decide to go with Ter Stegen over Neuer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore that takes place, we won\u2019t be sending any more national players,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bild.de\/bild-plus\/sport\/fussball\/fussball\/nationalmannschaft-uli-hoeness-drohte-jogi-loew-mit-dfb-boykott-64915370\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hoeness said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will never accept that there will be a change here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he would consider meeting Germany manager Joachim L\u00f6w to discuss the situation, Hoeness added: \u201cHe\u2019ll already hear what we\u2019ve said, his ears will ring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Would You Rather Raheem Sterling or Kevin De Bruyne?
