Ross Barkley has likened Chelsea teammate Mason Mount to Frank Lampard and believes he will be a hit with England.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mount has enjoyed a stellar start to the season, scoring two goals in four games for the Blues as well as receiving a call-up to the national side.<\/p>\n

  • His goalscoring exploits from midfield drew comparisons with Lampard, who took him on loan with Derby last term.<\/li>\n
  • Again, Mount thrived, scoring an impressive 11 goals as the Rams reached the Championship play-off final.<\/li>\n
  • With Lampard now at the Chelsea helm, Mount has continued his ascent, and goalscoring rate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The 20-year-old has been drafted in Gareth Southgate’s 25-man band for\u00a0the upcoming Euro 2020 Qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.<\/p>\n

    Barkley also earned a call-up, and he has now earmarked his fellow countryman to make a considerable impact for the Three Lions, while also comparing his technique to that of a young Lampard.<\/p>\n

    Barkley said: “I believe he will be in the squad 100 per cent when it comes to it.<\/p>\n

    “Then it is down to him but I believe he will be [in the team] because of how good he is and the things I have seen this season.<\/p>\n

    “The way he arrives in the box and gets shots away early, it is similar to Lamps. He has a really good technique with how he finishes as well. He is a brilliant player.”<\/p>\n
