Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has thanked manager Frank Lampard for providing him the confidence to score his first career goal from outside the box.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The young English marksman played a star role as the Blues picked up their first competitive win under Lampard, bagging a brace to sink Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road.<\/p>\n

    Abraham’s\u00a0first broke the deadlock in East Anglia and simultaneously opened his Chelsea account, before he went on to reach another milestone by scoring a match-winning strike just inside the D – his first from outside the 18-yard area – and he only had one man to pin his achievement down to.<\/p>\n

    “I was over the moon!” Abraham told the club’s official website<\/a>. “It\u2019s something I always dreamed about as a young kid going to Stamford Bridge. I didn\u2019t really know how to celebrate, I just ran over to the manager to thank him and the staff.<\/p>\n

    “It\u2019s always nice to have that support behind you, especially how he [Lampard] supports the young lads. He gives us confidence. When a coach believes in you, you just want to do your best and give 100 per cent.<\/p>\n

    “I have always believed in myself. I know I have had a bit of a sticky time at the start of the season, but I\u2019m someone who doesn\u2019t let that affect me. It drives me on. Now I have scored two good goals and hopefully I can keep scoring for Chelsea.”<\/p>\n
