Real Madrid have confirmed teenage midfielder Takefusa Kubo has joined fellow La Liga club\u00a0RCD Mallorca on a season-long loan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Japan international featured heavily in pre-season and has recently been turning out for\u00a0Real’s reserve side Castilla, but will now gain valuable first team experience away from the Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

  • Kubo was part of Barcelona’s La Masia set-up between 2011 and 2015.<\/li>\n
  • Due to Barca’s breach of\u00a0Fifa\u2019s international transfer policy for youth players, he was ineligible to play for the club.<\/li>\n
  • As such, Kubo returned to Japan and signed with\u00a0FC Tokyo.<\/li>\n
  • Having impressed in the\u00a0J1 League, Real snapped him up earlier this summer.<\/li>\n
  • He has now joined\u00a0RCD Mallorca on a season-long loan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Signed from\u00a0FC Tokyo on a five-year contract in June, the 18-year-old was expected to play for\u00a0Real Madrid B in 2019\/20 despite impressing during the club’s summer preparations.<\/p>\n

    As per La Liga rules, top-flight clubs are only allowed three non-EU nationals, with those positions handed to Eder Militao, Vinicius and Rodrygo, so Kubo has been allowed to leave temporarily.<\/p>\n

    A statement on the club’s official website<\/a> read: “Real Madrid C. F. and R. C. D. Mallorca have agreed to the transfer of Takefusa Kubo for this season, until June 30, 2020.”<\/span><\/p>\n
