The agent of\u00a0Lucas Torreira admits there was a “possibility” his client could have joined AC Milan earlier this summer, but Arsenal rejected the move.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Uruguayan cast doubt on his Arsenal future in June by telling reporters\u00a0he “doesn\u2019t know if there are many things he enjoys in England”.<\/p>\n

  • Torreira played\u00a050 matches in all competitions in 2018\/19 after joining Arsenal from Sampdoria last summer.<\/li>\n

    Agent\u00a0Pablo Bentancurt also fanned the flames after he told\u00a0Italian media<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0Marco Giampaolo, manager of Milan and Torreira’s former boss\u00a0at Sampdoria, is “special for Lucas”.<\/p>\n

    After two months of speculation,\u00a0Bentancurt has once again addressed the issue. While he reiterated the affection shared between\u00a0Giampaolo and\u00a0Torreira, Torreira’s representative now insists the South American is “fine” at Arsenal after the club refused to sanction his departure.<\/p>\n

    “There was the possibility,” he told TMW<\/a> when quizzed on whether Milan were eyeing up Torreira.<\/p>\n

    “Giampaolo is in the heart of Lucas.\u00a0But Arsenal said they had no intention of selling the boy.\u00a0Lucas is fine, the company is happy with him.\u00a0This will be the year of consecration.\u00a0With the Arsenal shirt.<\/p>\n

    “Milan is Milan, it will always be an important team, even if today it has some economic problems.”<\/p>\n
