Liverpool midfielder\u00a0Xherdan Shaqiri has expressed his ‘disappointment’ in having to play a peripheral role at Anfield.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pint-sized Swiss has struggled for game time since relocating to Merseyside and has now opened the door to a Liverpool exit.<\/p>\n

    Shaqiri was made to play a\u00a0bit-part role by Jurgen Klopp last season, and already this term the former Stoke man has been an unused substitute for matches against Norwich City, Southampton and Chelsea in the Super Cup.<\/p>\n

    As such, the 27-year-old has now broken the silence over his lack of minutes and fanned the flames on a transfer away from the club before the European market closes next month.<\/p>\n

    He told Swiss newspaper Langenthaler Tagblatt<\/a> : “I’m disappointed that I did not play anymore. Nobody likes to sit on the bench.<\/p>\n

    “It’s clear that I want more time. I have to look at the situation and find a solution.”<\/p>\n
