Five things to know&#8230;<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Christian Eriksen joined Tottenham in 2013 from Ajax.<\/li>\n<li>He has helped them to two runners-up medals in two competitions, the 2015 League Cup and 2019 Champions League.<\/li>\n<li>But the Dane is still awaiting his first trophy at Spurs.<\/li>\n<li>He admitted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.squawka.com\/en\/news\/christian-eriksen-real-madrid-transfer-spurs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier this summer<\/a> that he was open to moving.<\/li>\n<li>Man Utd reportedly ended interest in Eriksen after they believed he had his heart set on Real Madrid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-color: transparent; display: block; padding: 0; max-width: 700px;\" title=\"Audioboom player\" src=\"https:\/\/embeds.audioboom.com\/posts\/7343141-chelsea-can-get-excited-about-n-golo-kante-s-messi-impression\/embed\/v4\" width=\"300%\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Following Eriksen&#8217;s outstanding display against Aston Villa last weekend after coming on from the bench, the Dane was understandably a hot topic of discussion in Pochettino&#8217;s press conference in the build-up to Spurs&#8217; huge game at Manchester City on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if Eriksen would remain at Spurs, he said:\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy point is to help all the players, to support all the players until they decide with the club to go a different way with their career, and to show respect to all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes it is difficult to understand outside of football or this club that respect means respect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m happy with the last week with how he\u2019s doing (and) his performance in training. We still have one training session and I\u2019ll decide the starting eleven.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, it\u2019s the same between a player who has one year on his contract and one who has five years. He arrived with no pre-season, of course, he is trying to adapt himself, his physical condition, tactically, settle in a new country in a new philosophy and it is not easy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can tell you he won\u2019t be in the starting XI, but if he is going to be involved or not we need to assess today.
