New Juventus signing Danilo has revealed he jokingly told Cristiano Ronaldo that he wanted his No.7 shirt upon his arrival at the club. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The defender moved to Turin from Man City last week as part of a deal which saw Portuguese right-back Joao Cancelo head the other way.<\/p>\n

    Danilo’s transfer sees him link back up with former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo, having won two Champions League titles together during their time at the Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

    And speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Danilo remarked that he’d asked Ronaldo for his coveted squad number before revealing how “motivated and happy” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner appears at the Allianz Stadium.<\/p>\n

    “I spoke to him before coming here. I said to him that I wanted to take the number seven jersey, but it was already taken,” Danilo said.<\/p>\n

    “He spoke very highly of Juventus and to play with him will be an extra motivation. I found a very motivated and happy Ronaldo. He spoke about the club like a family and this was reassuring to me. It was great to hear such things.”<\/p>\n

    Danilo has also linked up with former Chelsea and Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri, who replaced the outgoing Max Allegri this summer.<\/p>\n

    And the 28-year-old has revealed the demands being placed upon the team by the Italian, saying he is already quite fond of Sarri’s style of play.<\/p>\n
