The transfer was met by disgust from Leeds fans, and Jansson has explained the reasoning behind the deal.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/audioboom.com\/posts\/7311398-alexander-arnold-s-perfect-mentor-the-goat-right-back-is-available-for-free<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0Swedish newspaper <a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aftonbladet.se\/sportbladet\/fotboll\/a\/AdJAJE\/pontus-janssons-overraskande-val--brentford-vill-stanna-i-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">Aftonbladet<\/a>: &#8220;Leeds needed to sell to balance the books because of FFP and they saw that they could make some money out of me. I said to my agent that I wanted to stay in England when this situation arose. There have been several tempting offers from various clubs but I am happy here and have made a name for myself in this country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My ambition is to play in the Premier League but I didn\u2019t want to sit and wait for the right club in the Premier League to make an offer later in the summer and let this chance [to join Brentford] pass me by. The celebrated Argentine tactician offers a pedigree which no one in the Championship can compete with and couldn&#8217;t have come much closer to returning Leeds back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jansson has admitted that his relationship with Bielsa didn&#8217;t help matters when it came to deciding his future.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have always liked to have a close relationship with my coach, like the relationship I had with Roland Nilsson or Rikard Norling, for example. That hasn&#8217;t been as easy with Bielsa and one reason for that is the language,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I regard Bielsa very highly, as one of the absolute best coaches I have worked with.
