Ander Herrera has claimed Manchester United undervalued his “importance” within the squad, which contributed to his decision to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Spain international failed to agree a new contract at Old Trafford and left on a free transfer for the\u00a0Parisians earlier this month.<\/p>\n

    There is a growing belief that\u00a0Solskjaer is actively trying to shift some of the deadwood in his squad, though reports suggest the Norwegian wanted to keep hold of Herrera.<\/p>\n

    The Bilbao-born midfielder has now revealed the reason for his departure, claiming Solskjaer tried to persuade him to stay but ultimately the Man Utd hierarchy was too hesitant in their negotiations.<\/p>\n

    Speaking to Marca<\/a>, he said:\u00a0“I don\u2019t like looking at the past but there were differences regarding the project and my importance within it.<\/p>\n

    “I was very happy, I have a lot to thank the club for, the fans and also Solskjaer.<\/p>\n

    “He did a lot for me to stay, but things didn\u2019t happen. They arrived late and, by then, I\u2019d already made the decision to play in Paris.”<\/p>\n
