England Under-21 and Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has lamented his side’s “embarrassing” defensive record at the European Championships.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Young Lions came up short in their opening Group C match against France on Tuesday before capitulating against Romania three days later.<\/p>\n

    Having come from a goal behind on two occasions against the\u00a0Little Tricolours at the\u00a0Stadio Dino Manuzzi, Henderson allowed a Florinel Coman strike to slip through his finger tips for\u00a0Romania’s third.<\/p>\n

    His aberration ensured maximum reward for Mirel Radoi’s side, who face a group-defining match against France on Monday. Meanwhile, England will be teeing off in their final match against Croatia, and Henderson took time to reflect on a disappointing experience in Italy.<\/p>\n

    He said<\/a>: “Whoever goes on to win the tournament we know we can beat them as well. It is a shame.<\/p>\n

    “We have let ourselves down. We have let the country down.”<\/p>\n
