Lazio president\u00a0Claudio Lotito has revealed he “will not oppose” the sale of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic if the midfielder wants to leave.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 24-year-old Serb has been the subject of interest across the continent, with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain among the names being bandied about, while Manchester United were interested<\/a> last summer.<\/p>\n

    Milinkovic-Savic burst onto the scene in 2017\/18, sparking rumours of a big-money move away from the\u00a0Stadio Olimpico last summer, but the mountainous midfielder cooled speculation by agreeing a new deal with the Biancocelesti in October.<\/p>\n

    Despite a less prolific Serie A season this time around (five goals, three assists), Milinkovic-Savic has again been linked with a move to one of Europe’s heavyweight clubs and\u00a0Lazio boss\u00a0Lotito has now conceded he won’t stand in the way if his midfielder wants to leave this summer.<\/p>\n

    Lotito told Gazzetta dello Sport<\/a>: “At Lazio, we only keep those who want to stay.<\/p>\n

    “If the player expresses the intention to try a new challenge, we won\u2019t stand in his way.<\/p>\n

    “Negotiations aren\u2019t carried out in newspapers. I\u2019ll just put out there that he was considered the best midfielder in Serie A last season.”<\/p>\n
