Barcelona president\u00a0Josep Maria Bartomeu has rubbished the idea that an\u00a0agreement is in place with Atletico Madrid over the\u00a0transfer of Antoine Griezmann. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The World Cup winner announced last month that he will be leaving the\u00a0Wanda Metropolitano this summer, with Barca widely regarded as firm favourites to secure his signature.<\/p>\n

  1. Griezmann confirmed he will be leaving Atleti this summer via the club’s official Twitter account<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Barcelona attempted to sign the Frenchman last summer, but he penned fresh terms in the Spanish capital.<\/li>\n
  3. However, interest has now resurfaced after Griezmann made his announcement in May.<\/li>\n
  4. Last week Atleti CEO Gil Marin confirmed<\/a> Griezmann will join Barca.<\/li>\n
  5. But Bartomeu has now denied that an agreement is currently in place between both clubs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Barca attempted to lure Griezmann to the Camp Nou this time last year, but came up short as the Frenchman committed to the Madrid club, which culminated in the release of his “La Decision” video.<\/p>\n

    Fast forward 12 months and Griezmann is now heading for the exit doors, with Barca the chief contenders to sign him. However, no deal is in place yet, with Bartomeu even going as far as to claim that no contact, of any kind, has been made.<\/p>\n

    “We’ve always said it, we’ve never spoken to him, there’s nothing,” the Barcelona president told RAC1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “We’re already seeing how the market is growing these days and weeks.”<\/p>\n
