Argentina legend Diego Maradona has insisted he is the right man to coach Manchester United.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maradona is currently in charge of Dorados de Sinaloa in the Mexican second division but has admitted he would like the chance to guide Man United, despite revealing rivals Man City had overtaken them as his “favourite” English team.<\/p>\n

  3. The 58-year-old admitted Man City have overtaken United as his favourite English team.<\/li>\n
  4. But he still claimed he would like the chance to sit in the Old Trafford dugout.<\/li>\n
  5. Current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won 16 of his 29 (55.2%) games in charge so far.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    “If Manchester [United] need a coach, I\u2019m the man to do it,” Maradona told FourFourTwo.<\/a><\/p>\n

    “Manchester United used to be my favourite English team for so long.<\/p>\n

    “But now I have to say Man City. I know you shouldn\u2019t change like that but it\u2019s because of Kun [Aguero]. We speak a lot and he plays in a very good team.\u201d<\/p>\n

    After rolling over the line to a sixth-place Premier League finish, as well as failing to go beyond the quarter-finals in any cup competition, the Red Devils are in the midst of a massive summer rebuild under Solskjaer.<\/p>\n

    United have already allowed Ander Herrera \u2013 a player admired by Maradona \u2013 to leave for PSG on a free transfer and Maradona has also offered a candid assessment of midfielder Paul Pogba, blasting the Frenchman as work shy.<\/p>\n

    He added: “With United I liked Ander Herrera. Paul Pogba? Doesn\u2019t work hard enough.”<\/p>\n

    Pogba is contracted at Man United until 2021 but has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.<\/p>\n
