World Cup winner Mario\u00a0G\u00f6tze is on course for a recall to the German national team according to boss\u00a0Joachim L\u00f6w.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has impressed this season for Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund and is close to getting his first cap for his country since 2017.<\/p>\n

  1. G\u00f6tze made his debut for Germany in November 2010 in a friendly match against Sweden.<\/li>\n
  2. Less than a year later, the playmaker scored his first goal for Germany against Brazil, becoming the joint-youngster scorer for his country.<\/li>\n
  3. He made his international tournament debut at Euro 2012 where the Germans reached the semi-finals.<\/li>\n
  4. G\u00f6tze made himself a legend when he scored the goal that won his country the World Cup in 2014, beating Argentina 1-0.<\/li>\n
  5. The Dortmund star has struggled with health problems over the years but still has 63 caps to date.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This season,\u00a0G\u00f6tze returned to his best as he enjoyed a successful campaign with Dortmund. The former Bayern Munich man scored seven Bundesliga goals in 27 outings which is his highest league return since 2015.<\/p>\n

    His performances clearly haven’t gone unnoticed, with Germany boss\u00a0L\u00f6w revealing that\u00a0G\u00f6tze, who also provided seven Bundesliga assists, is close to earning his way back into the senior squad.<\/p>\n

    Speaking to reporters<\/a>,\u00a0L\u00f6w said:\u00a0“I’m so happy for Mario (G\u00f6tze).<\/p>\n

    “In the past few months, I have noticed that he is very dynamic and very well-trained. If he keeps up on this path, he will come back to the national team.”<\/p>\n
