Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz will join Bayern Munich in 2020, according to the club’s former sporting director.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Havertz, 19, enjoyed a sensational season for Leverkusen in the 2018\/19 Bundesliga campaign, scoring 17 goals \u2013 a Bundesliga record for a teenager.<\/p>\n

    That form has seen the teenager linked with a move away from Leverkusen, with Bayern Munich understandably one of the favourites to get Havertz’s signature.<\/p>\n

    In the past, Bayern have been known to sweep up young prospects from their rival German teams, with the steady stream of Champions League football they have on offer. Havertz would also play into Bayern’s plans for a younger team as they look to start a new era at the Allianz Arena, post-Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.<\/p>\n

    But according to Leverkusen’s former sporting director, Reiner Calmund, Bayern will have to wait a year.<\/p>\n

    “Kai Havertz will go to Bayern next year, not this year,” Calmund told Bild<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “He will not move. Leverkusen want to enjoy him a bit longer but he’ll move on. Hopefully, he stays in Germany, and the club that can do that is Bayern.”<\/p>\n
