Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has tipped Manchester City to win the Premier League title. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pep Guardiola’s side are two points behind leaders Liverpool but host the Foxes in their game in hand on Monday night.<\/p>\n

    And although Schmeichel, who made 10 appearances for City as a youngster, has insisted he and his Leicester teammates are heading to the Etihad looking for a win, he does believe the title will still be City’s come the end of the season.<\/p>\n

    “So much depends on us on Monday,” Schmeichel told Sky Sports<\/a>. “We are in a position where we can affect the title race.<\/p>\n

    “I think Manchester City will do it in the end but I think they will have to lose to us first and then Liverpool will have to lose.<\/p>\n

    “It’s really tough to call. We are going there for our job. We are going for seventh so we are going to win.<\/p>\n

    “We can’t use the past [winning against City in December] for too much.<\/p>\n

    “They are a great side and they are going for the top prize and when you are going for that, knowing from experience, you get into a groove and you grind out results and they will look to do that. We had a good result last week. It will be an interesting game. It will be tough for us but we will try and find some ways to make it tough for them.”<\/p>\n

    Schmeichel names <\/strong>world’s best goalkeepers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Despite being level with Alisson on 22 Premier League goals conceded, behind the Liverpool stopper on Premier League clean sheets (20-19) and sitting behind him in the pecking order for Brazil, Schmeichel believes City stopper Ederson is the English top flight’s best goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

    The Dane believes Ederson’s bravery with the ball is vital to City and elevates him as one of the world’s best goalkeepers, alongside Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Jan Oblak.<\/p>\n

    “I would say Ederson along with Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Jan Oblak are the three best goalkeepers in the world and have been for a while for me,” Schmeichel said.<\/p>\n

    “The way Ederson plays is so brave. To dare to play like that is bravery and it also enables City to play with a much higher press. They are able to really press because they know any ball in behind he will sweep up. His bravery in daring to be in those positions, knowing the slightest mistake will cost his team, that’s proper goalkeeping for me and I think he has been the best goalkeeper in this league for a while.”<\/p>\n
