Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool’s season has been “very successful”, even if it ends without a trophy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds are currently two points clear of Manchester City \u2013 who have a game in hand \u2013 at the top of the Premier League table but trail Barcelona 3-0 after the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.<\/p>\n

    Klopp’s side have already reached 94 points this term but a first league title since 1990 still seems unlikely given City’s recent form, while a first trophy since the 2012 League Cup seems like an equally distant prospect given their hammering at the Nou Camp last week.<\/p>\n

    But the German insists their season will still be a success, regardless of whether it ends with another empty trophy cabinet.<\/p>\n

    “A lot of supporters from other clubs will be happy if we fail. They’re still behind us [in the table], apart from Man City. It’s all okay, really,” Klopp told reporters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “At the very beginning when I came to Liverpool, I realised this club has to do it the hard way, so we’ll do it the hard way. That’s how it is, because luck is not constantly with us.<\/p>\n

    “It’s not like, ‘wow, again!’ We have to really work for it and the boys are ready and the whole club is ready for that. I was not sure against Newcastle if we could do it, but we did it. I’m absolutely proud.<\/p>\n

    “Whatever happens, it will be a very, very successful season and I’m pretty sure that all our supporters can see it like this.”<\/p>\n

    Klopp confirms Salah and Firmino ruled out of UCL clash<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Star forward Mohamed Salah departed Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday with a head injury sustained in a clash with Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.<\/p>\n

    And Klopp has confirmed that he, along with Roberto Firmino – who has struggled with an ankle injury, will miss the second leg<\/a> of their Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona, although Salah should be back for the final Premier League game of the season against Wolves.<\/p>\n

    \u201cBoth Mo and Roberto are not available,\u201d Klopp told reporters when asked about the availability of his key forwards.<\/p>\n

    And on Salah\u2019s condition, he then added: \u201cIt\u2019s concussion so he wouldn\u2019t be allowed to play. We cannot do it.<\/p>\n
